220 is an A and 2 B's 120 for an A minus 20 for each grade thereafter. AS's are half an A-level therefore half the points. You do not include AS's if you have taken the full A-level. Generally universities want a minimum of 3 full A-levels.

I got into my chosen university with 2 A levels. I pretty much did the same as you, in the first year I took 4 AS levels, only carried 2 on and did another AS in the 2nd year. As long as the A levels and as levels are relevant, you should be fine. Some only ask for points, and some ask for specific grades. My first choice uni asked for specific grades in my A levels, one of them was lower, but I got higher in the AS level I had which was directly connected to the degree, so I phoned them on results day to check whether I had been accepted - which I had!

If you are unsure, ring the university admissions, their number should be on the university website. They should be able to advise you.

120 points is an A at a-level
100 points is a B at a-level
80 points for a c

your two a/s levels will just be counted as a/s levels, not an a level. not certain but i'm pretty sure a/s levels do account for half the points of an a level so

60 points for an a, etc

the univeristies don't often just go by how many points you rake up.
